We decided to go somewhere and unwind. We were stressed out from work and for once, we wanted to escape from the busy and hectic life in Manila.
I was really agitated to visit this place because I have seen multi farious of good comments about this place. I was really looking for a quaint yet respite from the city. I was really suffocated by the concrete jungle. So I was really wanting for a quick getaway. My friend and I decided to visit Sierra Madre Resort and it's nature as our destination. I woke up at a crack of dawn to pack my things. We met at Sandigan QC around 6:30 am and jumped on a Jeep bound for cubao Ali mall for 20 minutes. We were confused about the location since I was not aware about the location. From cubao we jumped on a jeep bound for antipolo, jeep ride for cogeo and another jeep ride for sierra madre at last! It was a beautiful sunny yet very cold Saturday as we traveled for almost 3 hours to reach our destination, the asphalt road of Sierra Madre hills, popularly known as Pirata Haven in Tanay, Rizal. We paid 200 php for the entrance fee ( 50 php each).
When we arrived, we quickly started exploring the area. We walked along a pathway that offers a scenic view of the surrounding mountains. Well, the truth is almost all areas in the resort is scenic. We walked down the slopes until we reach the Spring valley, a part of the resort located far from the main building. The pool is surrounded by a garden of manicured lawn and pine like trees. Again, needless to say, it has a picturesque view of the mountain ranges.
The running water was really inviting! I do not have extra clothes and we do not really have plans of swimming . I just worn my red dress and kicked my shoes off. We rented Life buoy ( salbabida) for 30php. ( Children rate) because we are so small, so small life buoy was enough. I really enjoyed the water! I wonder if the water from the falls will ever run out. Well, as long the source or the springs continues to produce water then we will be able to enjoy this wonderful God’s creation.
It was my first time to see a falls within my reach and enjoy the cold water from the mountain’s spring. I have seen different falls like Pagsanjan Falls in Laguna and kabigan falls in Ilocos but not as close as Daranak Falls. One would really appreciate God’s creation.
We decided to leave Daranak at 4:30 pm, since we still have planned to visit cave and parola. We rented a tricycle for the rest of the tour. My friend gave 400php to the driver.
We finally arrived in the mouth of the cave. The entrance fee is only 20 pesos/ head. We went inside and I was dazed to see the cave’s interior. It was clean and the rock formations were well-built. All our efforts never went down the drain; it was truly worth it to have witness the beautiful scene inside the cave.
Last place that we vistied was the Parola. It was very romantic because of the weather. It was very cold.
I would like to share this wonderful experience, not only because it was worth telling but I want this to be an eye opener to everybody. That we should be thankful for the wonderful creations God made for us. And, that we should be responsible in taking care of them. In our own little ways, we can help each other preserve the beauty of these creations. Next Target would be on February 2013. :)
